First topic message reminder :

The Acarnanian Den is found in the heart of our territory. Beauty is this areas middle name. Not only is their plenty of caribou and hares, a large body of water lies close by. It is a wonderful area to hide away and enjoy nature and its lush green woods.

Seeing Night and Talon leap, he soon followed, feeling air borne, he closed his eyes. He heard the tumbling of the avalanche, but he tried to ignore it. His fur flew in all directions, his paws cutting through the air.

Fear watched as her pack-mates plunged off the cliff, to where Fear was unable to figure out. She could either follow and plunge off after them or stay where she was, she was far out of harms way but she felt she was needed with her pack, if any of them were hurt in the fall she should be thereto help, sighing she jolted fast until she found herself at the edge of the cliff, taking a deep breath she leaped down.

Night could feel everyone's presence, but her paws were flailing in every direction, trying to get a bit of sense of the air around her. Melted in with the rumbling of the avalanche, Night managed to pick out the sound of water. Smiling, she thanked her instincts for guiding her correctly. And within seconds, she felt the liquid surrounding her. And then darknes and silence overtaking the world. And then there was pressure above her, forcing her deeper and deeper as the snow crashed into the water. She knew their troubles weren't over yet..

Fear felt water splash around her, the cool liquid seeping through her thick white fur and chilling her skin. The canid's eyes grew wide as she felt the water around her and she plunged deeper and deeper down. It wasn't long before she hit the bottom and her lungs screamed for air, Fear never was good with water, her paws flapped around helplessly as she fought to reach the surface and refill on air but it seemed useless to fight against the water that had engulfed her and tried to claim her life.

Talon howled breifly as he made contact with the water, he could spot a white form floating near him and he guessed it was Fear. Swimming underneath her he pushed up with strong strokes seeing they had nearly made it he gave one final stroke and they broke free of the water, Talon sucked in the air greedily looking around quickly to see if he could find his packmates.

As he felt the cold water sink through his fur, a sudden shiver ran up his spine, instantly making him shake, he tried to paddle away from where they had landed so the snow would not fall on top of him, all while looking around for the rest of his pack mates.

At last Fear's crimson and white head broke the surface, she gasped for breath and looked around at her pack-mates. So far she could see Night, Talon, and Demo, as she gazed around for the others she couldn't ignore the chilling water in her thick pelt and the thought that at any second she could die here in this treacherous liquid. The main reason why she despises water so much is because in battle against it, it will never die or even get injured.

As Night surfaced gasping for air, she drank eagerly, filling her lungs with the crisp substance. The current of this a her was stronger them she had hoped, and as her paws faught against the forceful waves, she could feel the exhaustion overtaking her muscles. Panting, a large current if water swept over her head and pulled her down. As she broke free once more her muzzle was drowned full of water, only to cage her lungs against the breathless liquid.

The currents tugged at the female's fur and tried to pull her under, the canid had to fight to keep her head above the currents, her pelt was now sopping wet and not making it much easier to stay above water. As she looked around she spotted Night. The she-wolf was also struggling to survive the fierce battle the river held. It was kinda relieving to see she wasn't the only one splashing about in the cool liquid.

As Fear got rushed down stream she hit plenty of rocks and she dug her claws desperately into the slippery clay that rests beneath the water, her claws just got pulled through the tough material as she fought to survive the rapidly moving currents and live long enough to help her pack. She tried clinging to rocks, but her paws just slipped right over the slippery moss covered solids as if she had never even placed her paws on them, it was quite terrifying and Fear was sure her terror showed though she tried her best to hide it, it seemed impossible.

Alexa searched and searched around the bushes in the area, to finally find a pack. She was forced to ask, but a rabbit appeared before her. She jumped and grabbed the prey with her strong teeth. She began to grunt until the prey finally died. The ground was wet, so she decided to eat the meat. She felt a little relaxed, then she remembered the pack.

She turned to see the wolves, and walked toward the group. Finding the leader, she responded with a respectful bow and looked at her with a responsible stare. She did not know what to say among those few seconds of respect. She shook her head and said, "Hi, my name is Alexa, and I would love to find space as a hunter in your pack."

Alexa stepped towards the den, but she found herself by some water. She huffed and chuckled at the same time. Then, breathed and jumped to the first boulder she saw. Her claws dug aggressively at the rock, as she held her nervousness. Quietly, she leaped to the other boulder, this time, the boulder was wet, and she almost sled down. Half of her body was found inside the water.

She huffed and leaped to another boulder. She found herself stuck there. She gulped and stared around for any other answer. She grunted and sat down, looking for another boulder to jump at. Looking up to her size, she found a big rock. She stood up and crouched, wagged her tail with a smirk, then launched to the rock. She held strongly and started to climb up; but her paws were too wet. She gasped and weakly held. She escaped a low bark for help, but kept trying to climb up.

Nights eyes were wild with fear. She couldn't remember the last time horror had sank its teeth into her, and this time it has penetrated through all her instincts only to leave her with blind terror. She didn't know where anyone else was, except for the fact that she hoped they were all alive. Trying to focus on survival, she snarled as her muzzle was pulled under once more, only to be struck in the head by a passing rock. Breaking to the surface again, her vision was blurry and her head pounding.

Panic shot through Night as she struggled to claw at the slick rocks barely reachable. Panting and exhausted, her limbs were screaming at her to spot fighting. Soon she had no choice. She let her aching body slip into the current as it swept her around the rocks. They need to stop fighting it.. her thoughts raced. But her lungs were full of water and she could do nothing more then cry out with anguish.

Post  Fear Thu Feb 23, 2012 5:27 pm

Fear growled in frustration, there was no beating the cool liquid. The snowy female was far to stubborn to give up this fight, she couldn't stand to be pulled under and found washed up on shore somewhere, her body cold, wet, and lifeless. A burst of energy pulsed through the female as she paddled rapidly at the water just hardly keeping her head above water. She was terrified, but she refused to show it.

The blood splotched female had caught a glimpse of her inky Egetes before the water yanked her under water again. As Fear broke the surface again she gasped for breath and clawed at a rock, at last her claws sunk into moss and she tried to pull her self up only for her claws to rip through the soft green substance and send her back into the icy water.

Some where above the water's surface a desperate bark for help reached her ears. It sounded near. Paddling again the female grabbed at a rock and at last got a grip. She felt a wet furry body beside her and knew she had found the wolf that had called for help. Sucking in air she went under and quickly tried to push the wolf up only to be pulled away by the current, Fear tried to get in a quick word of sorry only to gag on water and be slammed against a rock.

Nights ears were thrumming with the wild pulse of her blood. Her mind was somewhere else, somewhere warm and dry where she lay on a grassy bank allowing the heat of the sun to cool her exhausted body. Allowing the river to place her on a resting bed somewhere peaceful.. but as Night sucked in a weak breath, she was slammed back into reality. The water around her was like ice, nipping at her numbing skin and pressing against her exhausted lungs. The Egetes knew she could let go and be washed up somewhere unharmed, but as she heard the distant rumbling of the falls, her instinct was to fight.

Her paws faught against the wild current, her legs cutting through the liquid. Here and there she could feel her claws skim a rock or log on the bottom, but it was too hard to securely grab onto. With a wild howl, she flung all her energy at the banks edge, clawing desperately at the loose and crumbling mud and soil. With a grunt, she lay half in and half out. The currents tugging at her fur

As he saw his pack mates surfacing and going for land he did the same. Feeling the snow crumble down into the water he swam rather quickly. As the she-wolf was pulled on shore she saw a wolf she had never seen before. It seemed friendly but you could never be to friendly. Leaping to her feet Fear narrowed her crimson eyes and leaped to the next rock, following the wolf with caution. As she brushed by the female she leaped to the next rock and so on. As she went on she spotted her pack mates, they seemed to be safe but might be bruised her and there but other then that they looked fine.

As the snow female looked behind her she saw the she-wolf who had helped her, nodding her thanks she leaped off the rock and struggled to the shore, as she pulled herself up with quite a struggle she looked around, not all her pack-mates were here but most of them were. After helping Night get fully on shore she sighed and began to check her pack-mates for bruises.

As she approached the first wolf on her list, Night she first asked if anything hurt worse then just a few sore joints, she had to make sure no bones were broken and such, as she patted her Egetes' wet coal pelt she felt only a few soft spots that could be called a bruise, she would need a lot of Yerba Santa if she were to cure all the packs bruises, if anyone needed major care she needed to treat them first.

Yahto looked at the wolves by the shore from behind a large boulder. A white female was stalking a brown one, and the rest of the pack, he assumed, was gathered on the shore a ways away from him. 'Now is as good a time as any, I guess.' He thought.

Yahto poked his head above the boulder and barked quietly to get the attention of the wolves, 'I hope their friendly,' the male thought to himself. He stepped away from the boulder with caution, attempting to join a new pack was dangerous, especially if they didn't want new members.

As the snowy female waited in silence for Night to respond she looked around at the other pack members, none of them seemed to badly injured. Before the chilling silence could stretch any further a bark broke through, it didn't seem aggressive but you could never be to sure. The crimson splattered female turned around her crimson eyes focused on the wolf who had barked, her eyes narrowed as she waited yet again for Night to speak.

Fear had nothing against this wolf in general, but she really didn't like most loners. A low growl began to form and at last escaped, Fear didn't wish to scare this wolf away just simply warn them not to mess with or her pack. They had enough wounds for today, the sore and wet pack just needed rest.

Night laughed quietly at this new males question. "This is Fear.." she said smiling weakly. Her legs still felt like rubber, and as she stood, she winced silently. "And I'm Night, the packs leader" before going on, Night nodded an approval to Fear and quietly thanked for her help. She felt fine, aside from her lacking sleep, soar body, and aching limbs. Padding up to this new loner, the black wolf saw no threat in him. "What can we offer you?" Night finally inquired, after fulling looking over this new wolf before her.

Post  Rye Tue Feb 28, 2012 4:04 am

After an agonizingly long time of running, the male reached what he thought of as a waterfall. Suspecting that Kiba was still hot on his trail, Rye took some time to think, only to be interrupted by the sound of a bark. What followed? A growl. Curious as to what had made the sound, the canid walked onto the shore calmly. He was quite confident that whatever had made it would not harm him, after all, through out what had happened he was quite sure most the animals who lived here would be exhausted from trying to seek shelter. Oblivious to the past, the male continued strolling up the shore. To his surprise, the words which echoed through the air were familiar. Pausing to listen, he investigated the sounds with more precision.

As Rye picked up his pace again, he trotted over rocks which hurt his aching pads even more. The canine observed the surroundings before finally looking up head. Eyes wide open, he studied what seemed to be a group of wolves. "You're alive!?", he announced, quite certain that it was the pack.

(Erm, did they jump into a lake or waterfall?)

After figuring Night had it sorted he padded a short distance from the pack. Finding a rock standing firm he tensed his muscles and jumped onto it. He plopped down onto the surface of the rock, sighing with relief as he could finally rest. His eyes started to flicker, almost closing. But as he heard Rye's voice his crimson eyes shot open focusing on him for a moment before his eyes completely closed.

Fear growls lowly as Night revealed her name, her Egetes had no right to give out the snowy females name. Fear resisted baring her teeth at the new comer as she narrowed her eyes filled with aggression, couldn't this wolf see Fear, with her crimson and snowy pelt clearly the pack could manage without the loner. "And what makes you the hero that can fix all problems within this pack?" Fear wanted to make it as clear as possible she disliked this wolf and the words that spilled out of his mouth.

As the stubborn female stood waiting for an answer she heard Rye's voice, it was mix of joy and worry. Just a moment passed before Fear replied, "of coarse we are! Sorry but your not getting rid of us that easy, you should have known better then to think us dead, we're not weak mutts!"

A little irritated with Fears attitude, Night bared her fangs at the white female. "Quit!" Night growled quietly. Still exhausted from their nightmare in the rapids, Night wasn't prepared to deal with Fears short temper. Flicking her ears at the sound of Rye, the female quickly faced him. Relieved to see them both safe and now, here with the pack. Not commenting, the Egetes passed a smile in their direction and wagged her tail lightly.

Remembering the new loners arrival, Night motioned for Fear to find something better to do then express her dislike for this new wolf.

Before she could go much farther she whipped around, before Fear was a on the edge of furious but now she had finally snapped. "Night m'dear. Perhaps he didn't merely think. Your to kind. For all you know this stranger could be playing the nice guy act." The white and red female stopped a mere second before speaking again, her tone was smooth and not in the least bit sounding disrespectful. "You should wait and see what exactly this wolf acts like. You know before giving them names and all that. Especially names that do not belong to you." With and grunt the female turned around not giving Night a chance to reply. Fear had nothing against this new comer, she just didn't trust people she ha only just met.
