The Acarnanian Den

The Acarnanian Den is found in the heart of our territory. Beauty is this areas middle name. Not only is their plenty of caribou and hares, a large body of water lies close by. It is a wonderful area to hide away and enjoy nature and its lush green woods.

"Night are you all right!" He asked now she had come onto veiw. Kiba felt uneasy and slowed down a bit. "Ahhh!" Kiba went crashing to the ground as a wolf lept on him. "Night! Rye! Do something!" The white wolf shouted.

(Anyone care to explain what the wolf looks like?).

Rye leapt out of the shadows, and grabbed the wolf by its scruff -- tugging it left and right. It released Kiba out of its jaws, which made the male sigh with relief. Whatever this wolf wanted it would fight. Rye snarled, his tail held high, but not too high, because that would show he was the dominant of the pack, which he was not. The fur on his back stood up as he bore his teeth. The male gave a few short barks to alert the pack of the intruder. But wait, this wolf was one of those from today.

"You do not belong here", Rye said under his breath.

Kiba barked as the Brownish Red wolf let go of him. The stranger stood there its brown and white tail raised and its fur sanding on its back, it looked like as if it was a dominant. Kiba got up from off the ground. "Who are you?" The white wolf asked his tone was softer than Rye's. "I am Spice leader of a pack that travels past here," The fae spoke. "Is this your land?" Kiba thought about many things. 'Does she speak the truth?' Was one question that he has stuck in his mind.


(You to can role play Spice as well if you want.)

The brown male held back yet another snarl. Why on earth would this wolf pounce onto Kiba with such brutal force, if it did not mean harm? Rye raised a brow and relaxed a bit. "This is our land, how could you not have known that? Every possible thing in our territory is marked, I'm sure you must've had the faintest idea a pack lives here". He shot the she-wolf a look of irritation, before motioning his head towards Night. "I cannot tell a lie", the brownish red wolf said. "I was expecting you". She then followed Rye's gaze until she was glaring at the Egetes.

Kiba raised brow confused by the females answer. He turned his head towards Night, then to Rye after his gaze set on the stranger. Kiba felt uneasy, he didn't say anything.

Night snarled quietly and raised her head. Her tail was held high and her ears pinned in an aggressive manner. "Care to explain why your pack has been following us then?" Night growled quietly, her eyes not once leaving the stare of this other female. For a moment the question seemed to surprise the she-wolf, as if sh hadn't expected anyone to have noticed. She began to speak, "My pack has a hurt member and we had to circle around behind your pack to ensure we didn't get... ran into.." Night almost laughed at this. "That's a lie. You were following for a while now, keeping pace.. and that's not why you are really here is it?" Night finished her sentence with a growl, "So get out. You have no right to be in our territory."

The brown fae looked as if she was thinking about something when all of a sudden she shot off. "That was weird." Kiba said looking around him. "This is very strange, It just doesn't add up." He added puzzled.

"What could it be?" He asked. 'Well there is only one way to find out' Kiba thought a frown on his face, he was still confused. "Well Night lets just hope it isn't bad..." The white wolf said worried.

Rye was confused. This wolf had pounced onto Kiba, pinning him down, and now was making an excuse for her actions? Unlike the others, he felt sorry for this wolf. As she began sprinting off back to the forest, Rye turned to face the others. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it again. The males ears were flat, his eyes staring at the ground. If it was true, if this wolf did indeed have a hurt pack member, it could be possible she simply attacked Kiba for her own self-defence. Rye turned to face the Egetes. "I will meet you back with the others...", he cut off, and sped into the forest. Breathing heavily, he followed the females scent.

Her behaviour was unforgiving, but each wolf deserves a chance. He would keep watch for the night, again. He would see if the facts were true, and would tell Night. Yes, that's what he would do.

Night frowned as Rye ran off. leave the pack without terms to do so? "Hmph" Night mumbled quietly. She looked to where the pack would be, or soon be coming. She motioned fir Kiba to follow and they went at a slow trot towards the packs destination.

Kiba watched Rye speed off. "I hope he's ok." He said and sighed. The male wolf looked around at the trees, plants, grass all the things around him. They just looked so clam and peaceful there, growing slowly. Kiba smiled and turned to Night. "Lets go find the others... or do you want to go after Rye?" He asked.

"Without you?" He asked. "I couldn't do it." Kiba sighed and looked at the ground, he looked to where Rye had gone and then back at the ground. "You should take the pack... I'll go after him." The male said.

(Leaving to ski for the weekend! Talk soon!)

Night nodded and was about to leave. "Be careful alright?" She said quietly. She shook herself and dashed off towards the pack, ready to lead them towards this other pack. They better be ready. The Egetes thought to herself.

(Since I am leaving, I give permission now for the pack to set off towards the East. Pretend Night will explain it to you all. Goodluck! ×D)

He nodded and raced off into the forest. "Look out because here I come!" He shouted as he ran. Kiba's red tounge hanged out of the side of his mouth as he ran enjoying the breeze rushing along his sides.

Rye was hot on the she-wolfs trail. He saw her approaching a ridge, the ridge he had watched her from. But instead of going onto it, she went to seek cover underneath it. The male silently crept, the female had squeezed through a hole, and into a small cave. He poked his head through -- when he pulled it back he had to gasp for air. The wolf had not lied, his instincts had been right. There was a pack member of hers in their, injured terribly, still, this did not solve the mystery. Something was fishy about her.

He climbed up the rocks, and stumbled with a grunt. Rye was so tired -- he had been on his feet since this morning, resting only to drink or eat. The male slumped against a tree. He closed his eyes, and instantly shook his head. Something was under his paw, but what was it? He lifted his leg up, and could see a small hole surrounded by rocks. He pawed at the rocks, and got a good view from the inside of the cave. There she was, the female and her pack. Although he could only see her from above, it was clear that it was the one they had seen before. He heard a mutter of words, and a sob. A sob? The male poked his ear to the hole. Yes. It was. It was a sob.

He ran after Rye but soon got tired. Kiba stoped and sat down he looed around the area, it was a lake. 'Am I lost?' He asked him self. The white wolf got up and padded over to the edge of the lake.

The egetes padded quickly up to the pack. Some members had been snoozing in the sun while others were munching on the remains if rabbits. "We must go now. Kiba and Rye are ahead." Night was guilty to move them at a rush, but something told her she had to. "Lets try to catch up the best we can."

(And from here the pack can decide what happens. ^^)

Hearing Night's howl Talon knew something was wrong 'come on' he shouted to the remaining wolves and ran in the direction, his body low to the ground and a snarl on his face desperatly hoping she was ok

Relief flooded over the Egetes as the pack came into view. "Don't worry, I'm Fine." Night assured, "but we must hurry on, the other pack is near" the female greeted Emerald with a nod, "And welcome Emerald."

Looking at the gathered pack, night motioned towards the direction both Rye and Kiba had gone. "Lets go." Night said determined.

Kiba had now already set off again in to the forest. It was starting to get dark and Kiba started to wonder where Rye had got to. "Where could Rye be?" He asked him self. The wolf slowed down to a trot then to a fast walk. 'I better take a rest,' He thought and walked over to a fairly large cave and he lay down.

He fell into a slumber and dreamed about what might happen the next day.

Night paused to think. "Perhaps for a short while, just to catch our breath and rest our paws." With a sigh, Night sat down and observed the pack. Her golden eyes began to glow and glisten as the night sky swallowed the remaining light of day.

The canid stood up and shook his head. The wind was bringing a scent, Kiba's. Rye shook his head and yelped. He must have come after him! He had put Kiba in danger. The male was alone somewhere out there. He ran down the slope following the scent, but it abruptly cut off at the edge. The male lifted up his head and howled. He didn't care if the female under the ridge heard him, he had to make sure the pack was okay, and that Kiba was safe.
